At the recent CEO ECONMASS Awards 2024, Mr. Torn Pracharktam, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Optical Group Public Company Limited (TOG), was honored with the prestigious 'Outstanding Senior CEO’ award in the Consumer Goods category. This recognition is part of the Top Corporate Leaders (Top CEOs) initiative, now in its third year, and was presented during the 2024 Thai Economic Seminar. Organized by the Economic Reporters Association in collaboration with KKR, SKR, and the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the event featured Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra presenting the awards. Mr. Torn also attended a seminar session titled ‘Thailand 2025: Opportunities, Challenges, and the Future’ at the Aksra Theatre in Bangkok.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Torn stated, “A leader's role is to support every aspect of the organization, act as a collaborator with the team, and provide a vision that propels the organization forward. It's essential to foster an environment of innovation, responsibility, and growth. Building a strong, unified team that can thrive in an ever-evolving landscape is crucial.
Our corporate culture drives progress through a focus on innovation and collaboration. Senior executives work closely with management teams to set clear, achievable objectives that align with the company’s overall strategy. Once goals are established, we ensure the necessary resources, support, and guidance are provided for success. If any confusion arises, executives dedicate additional time to engaging with the team, ensuring everyone is aligned. We believe in regular monitoring and open communication to track accomplishments, swiftly address issues, and adjust as needed.
Leaders should inspire confidence by celebrating successes and learning from failures. Whether goals are met or not, we focus on understanding the actions that led to any missteps and implementing necessary changes. Even failures present opportunities for growth that drive the organization forward.”
The Top CEO selection program for the awards is organized by the Economic Reporters Association in partnership with the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry, and Banking (JSCCIB), which includes the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Thai Industries, the Thai Bankers' Association, and the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce. This year’s selection process took place from June to October 2024.

The CEO ECONMASS Awards 2024 featured 18 awards across five categories:
- Senior CEO of the Year
- Mid-Level CEO of the Year
- SME CEO of the Year
- Media's Favorite CEO
- State Enterprise CEO of the Year
Additionally, the association partnered with the State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO) to recognize state enterprises for their outstanding contributions to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. This collaboration reflects a commitment from both the public and private sectors to work together toward sustainable national growth.
The selection criteria align to international standards, with the committee consisting of representatives from JSCCIB, senior executives, faculty from the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, subject matter experts, and SEPO representatives. The Media's Favorite CEO award is determined by a vote from members of the Economic Reporters Association.
