TOG supports ‘Low Emissions Support Scheme (LESS): Waste Management program, aiming to reduce resource and energy consumption in production.

Thai Optical Group Public Company Limited (TOG) actively supports the LESS Greenhouse Gas Reduction Project for Waste Management, which targets a reduction in the use of global resources and energy consumption throughout production. 

As part of the initiative, TOG has been participating, together with the Stock Exchange of Thailand, in the ‘Care for the Whale’ project. The project emphasizes waste separation for recycling, in turn contributing to the targeted goals of the LESS initiative. Waste separation works to reduce overall waste, energy consumption and usage of global resources, which is a necessary step in addressing the ever-problematic issue of climate change.

Environmental care is an important tenet of TOG’s corporate culture, and to ensure widespread participation, TOG has provided waste separation training to employees, has set up a recyclable waste zone in the common area, and has ensured the building department collects recyclable waste. TOG records the weight of all recyclable waste, before being sent for recycling, and as a result of these efforts, TOG has been able to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 548.167 tons of carbon dioxide, equivalent to one full year, from 1^st January to 31^st December 2023.
